I just learned about this plane crash a few minutes ago. I have personally met Vlado Lenoch a handful of times over the past 2 decades and even got to help him push "Moonbeam McSwine" (another P-51D) out to the taxiway at the Lake In the Hills Airshow (3CK) nearly 20 years ago. Very sad to see him gone and my heart goes out to both his family and his passenger's family.

Wow! Very sad.
I've always enjoyed his airshow performances. Last saw him a couple of years ago at the Jones Beach airshow on Long Island.
RIP, Condolences to the families.
 
MauleSkinner, that looks like the wrong accident. That gives me some accident from 1990. I think it usually takes a little longer before an accident appears in the NTSB database.
