P-40 Found ...

For a second there I thought someone busted the G-8 summit.
 
The beauty of the P-40 clearly comes through in that photo. It is a classic, WWII fighter. I hope it is restored and comes back home to the U.S.

Thats where my head was. That summit/TFR isnt till next week. (as is my understanding. Perform you're own preflight to confirm.....)
 
It was well preserved. Lack of water in desert I guess

On the Youtube videos , you can see them kicking out glass on the canopy when they found it.

There is also a second video of them removing the live ammo from the craft.

I saw the Roundels, so yes flown by the Brits, but made in the USA. It started life here. It would be "nice" if it could come back here.

Seriously that is beautiful. Its neat how the paint on the front got sand blasted.
