I'll let Ken explain. I think it's between an A and a B. An "A prime?"Bill Jennings said:Ok, wise guy, for those of us not real familiar with the breed, A or B?

Ken Ibold said:It is a factory A fuselage, mated to factory B wings, with the engine pumped up to about 225 hp and certificated as experimental-amateur built. The prebuy/annual done by one of the leading Pitts guys around found only a few squawks, and those are being addressed now. I hope to actually have it in a week or so.

See, after flying his Extra at Gaston's, I knew I had to do some upgrading.
Bought it in 2001, so 4.5 years.AdamZ said:Nice Pitts Ken Very nice. Didn't you just buy that Citabria?

No problem with insurance at all. It's slightly more expensive then the Citabria was, but the hull value of the Pitts is only half of what the Citabria was as well.mikea said:Did you have any issues getting insurance with the "amateur built" part? More to the point, how do the "amateurs" who built it manage to sell the plane without being on the hook for the claims of any owners for the rest of their lives?
