Next month I'm planning to visit Ottawa from the US, and staying for 2-4 days. I don't have the CANPASS aircraft pass, so as I understand it I can't land at Rockcliffe without clearing immigration/customs first.
Would it make sense to land at Gatineau to clear, and just park there? Our direct line of flight into Canada would be from the Watertown, NY area, so I could also go to Kingston, clear there, and then continue on to Rockcliffe.
On the return, does it make sense to clear on the US side in Watertown or Ogdensburg?
Just looking for any tips or advice on this itinerary from others who have made this trip.
