I thought you guys might enjoy a video I made of the "walk around" at OSU campus yesterday. The sororities and fraternities put on huge displays based around a theme which was "An orange state of mind" almost completely made out of chicken wire and different colored paper. Pay close attention to how detailed they get with color variations and almost picture like detail along with all sorts of objects moving.

After that is the Homecoming parade. We woke up at 3:30 this morning to tow our Flying Aggies cessna 150 with police escort to our spot in line downtown. It's a lot of fun riding with the airplane watching its wings on the back of a tow truck, especially the crazy looks you get from people in their cars. We stayed with the airplane until the parade started around 9 then played wing walkers, crowd head watchers, and candy givers all at the same time for about a 2 mile walk. Talk about tricky!! The parents are trying to get a good look so they stand close, sometimes van back doors are open so you have to make sure they're clear, and of course ALL the kids want to touch the wing! As crazy as that may sound, it was a lot of fun. And of course, at the very end of the parade, we had an immediate tow and police escort down the main highway back to the flight center! Everyone was cheering and the kids kept asking if I could fly it (of course with hands out looking for a tootsie roll). Exciting day!

Cool, looks like you had fun, should have gotten some more people in there though. One of them panels looked a bit hallucinagen inspired;)
 
Tristan, that's pretty cool. I love the Snoopy dog house over the tractor! :)

BTW - I love the tailnumber: N600SU. "Go OSU." Intentional?

I bet it was a hoot to escort that Cessna through the streets, but it sure looked relieved to be back at the airport, too.

Those decorations are definitely over the top. It is good to see that school spirit is not at all dead.

So, Texas plays OSU in a couple of weeks... OSU look strong... wanna make a little bet? :D

So, which is the better thing to rally around? A Cessna or a castrated cow? :rolleyes: ;) :D
 
Haha I dunno, we lost to texas last time if I remember right. I like my school but thats a tough call.
 
Thats awsome you took a plane to the parade!! I wish I was interested in Flying when I was in College. I was too busy chasing girls and drinking Beer.
 
I was just up your way a couple weeks ago to bring a friend whose daughter just started there! While we were on the ramp, a Gulfstream pulled up next to us with Boone Pickens aboard.

Wonderful vid. We'll try to let you know next time we're coming up your way!

Nice video. Don't know bout your OSU or Texas, but its another OSU that's number 1 just now. Go Bucks!

yea Boone's plane comes in a lot. Wait, you didn't say hi? BTW all those orange and white airplanes are our trainers.

Well, I wanted ta! I was busy filing my flight plan; or, uh, maybe in the rest room when he came in. I'm sure he woulda recognized me if I'd o been out there. :rofl:

LOL I meant say hi to me! He doesn't recognize anybody that isn't an OSU football member anyways.

Oh gosh no, our mascot had a full rifle in the parade. It was probably loaded with blanks but still cool. He usually has pistols though.

I think we have too many out-of-staters attending or working at my old college (Arizona). They took away Wilbur Wildcat's guns a year or two ago. Dimwits. And my high school mascot, which received its pistols when I was attending, had them taken away a couple of years ago.
 
Very nice Tristan! I didn't realize that you were an OSU student - I actually installed the software at the rec center there a few years back... while they were still building it.
