I think Ellen has been more of a talk show host rather than a host for the Oscars. Funny, yes. Just perhaps a bit boring.

I thought Jared Leto's speech was good.

I thought the Oscars were weak overall this year. Seemed like the same 4 or 5 movies competing in almost every category. Lot of snubs this year.

Not sure if it was weak singing or poor sound mixing, but most of the performances were flat. I did enjoy U2 however.

I know the Oscars are not based on popularity, but I hadn't seen or have no intention of seeing 90% of the films mentioned last night.

We watched Nebraska. It's okay, don't have to think a lot. Won best screen play or something. The old lady that was nominated for best supporting actress was a HORRIBLE actress. Very low budget film, renting towns, buildings, and bars in NE is cheap.

Nebraska is the only movie of the whole bunch I have any interest in seeing.

The show seemed a little flat to me. I think they toned down a lot of the productions they've had in the past so they could keep it on schedule.

Or maybe I just don't care? But there wasn't anything that really popped for me. The pizza guy thing was OK, though.

As for the big movies - Gravity was the only one I saw.

Ok, so being on the east coast and having to get up at 0400 for work, we went to bed fairly early on. Just now saw that that freakin' Disney song from Frozen that my kids won't stop singing took best original song. Really? Over U2? I mean what the heck were they smoking???

Wow - I thought just the opposite. When I saw June Squibb in Nebraska, I immediately thought she should get nominated for Best Supporting Actress. I thought she was outstanding.
