It is the History Guy. I think he is pretty good although I imagine he could get on your nerves. Anyhow, this one is about the origins of the CAP, and, as he sez, it is History that deserves to be remembered. -Skip

 
Nice bit of history, but the U-boat sinking didn't happen - it wasn't confirmed at the time, and the Germans didn't loose a boat on that date and location. CAP has backed away from it as being historically accurate, but it was accepted as a fact for so many decades that it still pops-up as "fact". CAP just kinda stopped claiming it, but apparently is willing to let the story be repeated witout working too hard to correct it.

My great-grandfather was one of the first CAP pilots. Here's the letter he wrote volunteering:
