But until you get them, the airplane is not legal to fly. And you may have to work with the FSDO where the builder got the airworthiness certificate to get the operating limitations if the papers that were supposed to be in the aircraft disappeared.
i found the paperwork it was in a pouch in the aircraft
Like that old joke about the maintenance log entries:if you don't have a operation limitations for your aircraft in the experimental class, where can you get a copy of it?
thanks

Like that old joke about the maintenance log entries:
Write-up: Lost #3 engine on return after 3 hours of flight.
Sign-off: Found #3 engine on right wing after 3 seconds of search.
The FAA is going to give you an initial set of operating limitations before you make your first legal flight. Those will change as you complete the phases of the initial fly-off period, but you will have them before you get your airworthiness certificate -- it's part of the E-AB airworthiness certification process. My experimental has no operating limitations, yet. But as I fly it, and push the envelope a little, the limits will become clear, and noted. Then I'll take those notes, and come up with a list of operating limitations.
