Anyone know of any open source Powerpoint clone? I'm familiar with OpenOffice Impress, but are there any better ones?

There are several "online" applications, most notably Google Docs Presentation, but I'm guessing you are less interested in those...

Google Docs might have enough functionality...or Zoho Show

Roll with Open Office, Ken, it works well.

I use Corel Presentations, it works very well, but while more reasonable in cost, it is not free.

I have the viewer. I need to create a couple presentations, but this need only arises once in a blue moon, so I'm willing to put up with kludgy.
Ken, I am trying to find something like this too. What did you end up using?

I was forced to build a powerpoint presentation during a class I took. To complete the class, I had to present it. I built it all with MS/PowerPoint then used Open Office to finish it. The presentation was done using the MS/PP exported package.
The only downside was the audio and video that must be in the same directory that you run from.
Always save the presentation as a MS/PP file and not Open Office.
You can look at Sun's Star Office product. It is a low cost MS/Office replacement that works well. The cost is under $100 I believe.
