So, I have finally had enough and am letting my AOPA membership expire and cutting up my card.

After alot of thought about the benefits, it turns out the only thing I real value I got from my membership was the online safety courses for my insurance discount. So, based on that, I am looking for recommendations on other sources of insurance discount training.

Please limit responses to recommended courses. We have plenty of other threads to bash AOPA.

I never really considered that. I just let my AOPA membership lapse. Oh well.

The only thing I miss about my lapsed AOPA membership is the airport directory, could come in handy. But I do without.

You can go direct to the FAA Wings website and sign up for the courses there. Some are AOPA-member only but there are more that aren't. Most are free, some require a fee. Those are provided by 3rd parties who develop safety training.

Awesome, thanks....I had seen that some were links to AOPA courses, but didn't realize some were not.

Maybe ask your insurance company what they want to see? They may have options you hadn't thought of.

I asked my company if I'd get a discount for going to sim training - they answered no.
