During a recent routine (non aviation) physical the doctor found what was described as a "small inguinal hernia", I asked about having it fixed and was told it was "too small" to fix at present.
I have two main questions for anyone who might know. First does it seem plausible that there is such a thing as "too small to fix"? Second, since it truly isn't causing me any trouble, if I choose not to have it fixed at the moment will this be a problem on my next medical (2nd class)?
I wasn't worried about it after talking with the doctor until I started thinking about flying and then I read Dr. Bruce's comment about hernia's and oil leaks in the thread below and I started thinking again. From reading several threads on this board I take it that this surgery is not as big a deal as it once was, so should I be pushing the issue harder?

Just looking for a few opinions from those who understand this topic a little better than I.
Thank you!
