One of the things about the time change that worked out this morning - if it's still dark where you are, the Moon and Saturn are right next to each other.

They would still be there regardless of DST or not.
I understand what you are saying, but there are only so many hours in a day. Changing the clock doesn't change that.

I hate DST, hope the bill in the MO legislature getting rid of it for the state passes.

Yes, they would be there, DST or not, but it wouldn't have been dark at the time I went out this morning and wouldn't have seen them.

The thing about DST is I really try not to be awake at 440am when the sun comes up May 1- Aug 1 here in Los Angeles - so with DST it comes up at 540a - a lot closer to my 6a wake up - so it adds an hour to where it does me the most good - and its all about me.

I'd be fine LEAVING DST and permanently adjusting time zones-

Do you hate DST itself, or the time change? I hate the time change, but I would be much happier if it was permanent DST.

Really the time change, it's stupid and serves no purpose other than to complicate computer code and disrupt people's sleep cycles.

Gives us more time to fly in the evening's too :rofl:

It's really a matter of the schedule society sets around apparent noon is all. We get up and go to sleep around that and that determines our perspective. Personally I prefer to have the schedule giving the extra sunlight exposure to be after my social commitment time than before, so I prefer DST.

I very much prefer DST. I'm not a morning person.

I prefer a DST to an STD, but I think that's another question!

Being from Michigan, I'm really not used to sunset at 1600 in the dead of winter. So I could live with DST all year around. Or better yet, move New England into the Atlantic Time Zone and do the DST thing on top of that.

We had it year round one year under Nixon when I was in second grade.

I think the MO legislature was making some noise lately about doing DST year round (different Nixon, the current Gov now.) If that happens, KC will be a mess for bi-state commuters every six months.
