I must be the most messed up. I use track up on the GTN750 and north up on the iPad. I don’t know why but that makes sense to me...

It just makes sense because the approach plates are north up. I like track up on the 750 because it’s easier to understand “turn left 180” when tracking up. I really only use FF for approaches. And because the plates are north up it makes sense.
 
Track up is the correct way... That IS track RIGHT.

HAH! PROOF that track up is correct! Strip maps from the 1920's (on rollers, no less; the original moving map) was situated track up! And that predates all of us (I think)!
