Tom Reilly's beautiful North American Aviation XP-82 is on the cover of Air & Space magazine's March issue, along with a centerfold photo of it flying with Doc, one of the two flying examples of the Boeing B-29 Superfortress.

Congratulations to Tom and his dedicated crew. They've earned it.

I visited that project a couple of times when it was underway. Weezie (mentioned in the story in Air & Space) showed me all around the place - she showed me what they had under this tarp, and what was in that corner, and what was up on the mezzanine - the whole 9 yards. A while later, she and Tom went out of their way to track me down on the airport and took me to lunch. After lunch, I paid that off by taking Weezie for a ride in the RV-6.

Really nice people and a very demanding project.
