Can't believe it,what kind of liability against suite are they carrying. Can they be sued if you don't crash, after there prediction?

They just give the odds is all. They probably got into an actuarial database and turned it into an app. It's pretty neat in my opinion.

Same as risk management matrix paper charts. Except they call those crash avoidance predictions, cause you aren't supposed to go. No way I'm missing my cruise...

Yeah, this is likely from what an insurance actuary would use to calculate a premium, and that is all that is really, a monetized form of risk management.

What's the point of this? I can imagine someone using this app.....oh good the odds my me crashing are 1 out of 2654753 which is much better than 1 out of 2544372 I had last week. :mad2:

All they have to do is say "parody - for entertainment purposes only" somewhere buried in the EULA, and they are covered against liability.

I think they should have called it "We're All Gonna Die"!

I can see them making stats available which rank carriers/situations...and then people might alter their booking choices based on that. In (the remote chance) its use becomes widespread, might affect the market.

How much is it adjusted if you're on an AirAsia flight?

#toosoon?

Sued for what?

HE IS SUING BECAUSE MURICA

seriously, that's half of the news feed anymore. Someone was inconvenienced, lawyered up, and is now holding a contingency-fee fuelled lotto ticket for a settlement win.

The point of the app is to create something mildly and briefly entertaining that 1% of the of the App Store population will give you a dollar for. This is consumerism in action.
