dug up my old log book for some laughs.

Airport KTEB (Teterboro, NJ) Class-D that's beneath the NY/Newark Class B.

1st flight lesson 5/23/98, logged .3hrs:lol: - mag problem during runup. CFI asked what my Go/No-go decision was. I said No-go so we taxi back to the flight school for some ground. (all other aircraft were taken)

2nd lesson (1st flight) 1.4hrs, Takeoffs, climbs, turns, descents, MCA & Stalls:yikes: Is this normal on a 1st flight? Well due to my lack of understanding and fear, I firewalled both throttle & yoke:hairraise: We were looking at a windshield full of earth and I levitated the poor guy...Twice:rofl:
Glad he said "my airplane":D

3rd flight, more of the same but this time I overcame the fear and properly recovered from the stalls. Wouldn't say I enjoyed them, just felt better about properly recovering.

4th flight, 9 touch & go's and one full stop...YES! started feeling good but now I started to learn that landing the real thing was a lot harder than my many years of Flightsim had lead me to believe:lol:

Due to my crazy work schedule, I couldn't take lessons as often as needed to.
Well many lessons later, I was finally ready to solo at 23hrs. It's funny how the CFI could assess my progress better than I could. I knew that I was getting close to solo but never imagined it would come that day! He got out and told me to do 3 T&Gs then come back to get him near the Tower. I Taxied to the end of the runway, said a quick prayer and that was that. A day that I'll cherish forever! The only thing that was missing were my parents who didn't live long enough to see me achieve my childhood dream.

It sure is fun to look back through your log books:)

Rahim, how much room do you have in you log book to put all that stuff, I can barely fit the name of the Pax I took ! Good stuff.

I can fit about 4 lines of text inside even the smallest of remarks areas in a logbook. The key is having a really fine point pen.

yeah i guess so because when I look at what he wrote, it still amazes me that he fit so much in that little space!

I'm hoping that I'll find the first couple of pages of my logbook amusing some day. Not there yet.

lol. I'll never forget that time he sent me off to practice landings and when I came back to the flight school, they said "is everything ok?" I said sure, why? They said, your ELT is going off:lol:--- I knew I'd had a few bouncers but didn't think they were THAT HARD:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Who said one must confine entries to one line? I will often make my date, origin / destination, aircraft type entries, then use several lines below it, indented, writing crossing columns, to take as verbose entries as I please. I let passengers write a note ("guest book" entry) in their own handwriting, etc. Turns my logbook into a memory chest, and I fill them up faster!

One can do that - but I avoid it with other people's logbooks unless it's really needed.

As far as my own logbook - I keep the personal stuff out of it.

I definitely note PAX and purpose. If something unusual happens, I log that too.
