Careful with straight up or straight down with the phone Youtube client. It won't crash, but it will gimbal-lock and lose position.

Seriously, though, I watched the video on my iPad and did not notice any change in the picture angle or anything. It is a regular YT video. Not sure how it would sense phone movement. Unless you watch it through some special app, that would probably work.
OR ... you've had one too many ... but you're from South Austin so that is not unexpected.
(ok, enough giving you hard time for today :D )

Don't view the video via the board plug-in. View it via the phone/iPad's Youtube App, or directly on the Youtube Website.

Yes, it does use the phone gyros to sense movement. Though if you view it directly on the Youtube website on a regular computer, it should have a 5-way slider on the lower right corner so you can change the viewpoint.

You can view it on the Youtube app via your iPhone, iPad, Android or tablet. You can view it directly on the Youtube website.

I changed the video to a direct link for the slow people like Lou. ;p

(P.S. if you have a flip phone.... get out!)

Hehe, I wanted to mess with Lou a little bit, but I forgot to update the link!!

Link is corrected in the original post. Sorry about that!

LOL Still no worky. YT opens in Safari on my iPad. *shrug*
Your evil plan ran aground, Shane. Need to try harder next time, bud. ;)
But just like Bob's phone, mine can't play it either.

Oh God, the YouTube developers are THAT bad?

Avoiding gimbal lock is truly easy. You just have to get out of the mindset that Euler angles are the only way to do this. In fact, they are a very bad way.

Gimbal lock is not a factor when representing attitude with unit vectors plus rotation, or quaternions. And this has been known since the 60s.

And people wonder why I complain about iToys….this is easy.

works for me on android phone

very cool

Never seen one of these 360 videos before. Pretty neat stuff!

I was watching it and felt like when my cat tries to look behind a mirror.
