Maine(and other states) has a long history of summer camps for youth, sessions which can last from one week to seven weeks. In the lakes regions, the mountains, the seashore; I remember attending Royal Ambassador Camp, in Ocean Park(near Old Orchard Beach) during the mid 1950s. Parents delivered the kids in a variety of vehicles; or some came by train(Maine hasn't had passenger train service since 1962, save for the very recent Downeaster service).

Well, this week several of the old camps have Parents Reunion Week which is to be attended by many who had, long ago, been campers or whose children are now attending same facilities. Within a press report of said reunion occasion appeared the following paragraph:

Even the airport saw more traffic. Maine Instrument Flight officials expected a peak of 40 to 50 jets Saturday evening at Augusta State Airport, most of them private aircraft and most of them carrying the parents.

Ayuh; times sure have changed.
