I just hit 74 and have heard talk that new insurance is impossible to get after 75.
Can anyone confirm this?

I'm in process of returning an Aeronca Champ to airworthy status. I was thinking of selling my present plane to finance the rather expensive IRAN of the Champ.

If indeed insurance after 75 is impossible, than I must always have an airworthy plane with insurance.

I know of a local pilot who had his C-172 insured to give instruction and send students solo, he's... I think late 80s?

It may be impossible to get new insurance for something high performance, but for a champ I'd think you could.

If insurance is the biggest deal, I'd be extremely happy. If your medical issues are okay, I would be a happy man.

I'll be there some day.
