Many of us know people--or have been personally--affected by this awful disease that attacks men as well as women. I had a "situation" myself that resulted in a biopsy and a fortunately benign result a year and a half ago, but that was scary enough and still is since it can yet be a potential problem.

So many women put their own needs last, even their own health needs, because they feel they have to take care of everyone else. And then by the time the problem is diagnosed it is often progressed so far it is too late to treat it. On top of that, someone who is already a little scared has to put up with the silly stories people tell them about these important exams, and that puts them off further. Please encourage your loved ones to schedule exams and support free mammograms for those who cannot afford it by going to this site and clicking the "donate a mammogram" for free button (pink window in the middle).

This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate mammogram in exchange for advertising.

Here's the web site!

Thanks for your support.

This hits home for me. Mom had surgery last month, and today we found out my mother-in-law has it. What I want to know is why cancer research isn't awash in funding. One would think that one of the biggest killers of our citizens ought to have an Apollo like program to get rid of it.

I could answer this question in detail but it will probably result in this thread getting moved to the Spin Zone.

So I'll just say this.

The most promising development for the treatment and possible prevention of cancers are stem cells.

Just Google stem cells and cancer, you'll get several pages.

I just don't want to be the reason for this post to get moved to an area (Spin) that will result in it getting limited viewings. I would ask, kindly, that if you want to discuss the politics of stem cells that you start another thread in spin for that purpose.

Let's keep this one on-topic. It's too important to turn into a political discussion that has to be moved to spin.

Thanks

Sorry. I am interested in the medical aspect not the politics. I did google and my questions are answered.
