Nvidia and debunking Apollo conspiracies..

I found it an extremely interesting and educational video.

People from Nvidia Corp. decided to recreate/model the Apollo 11 landing site using their latest Maxwell video card architecture and see if they could explain all the shadows/lights, etc. The idea was to see if this method could be used to debunk some of the conspiracies that the photos taken by Armstrong and Aldrin were all fake since there were no stars, there is too much illumination where should be total darkness, etc, etc. As you can see Nvidia put a lot of resources to add to this debate, they said that the video card technology finally reached computational power and sophistication that they were able to pull it off. Very illuminating to say the least :yes:

The conspiracy theorists won't care. They're only interested in "evidence", and I use that term loosely, that supports their preconceived notion.
 
As a person who watched it all unfold on TV, it makes me laugh, we did not have the TV technology at the time to fake it! It was easier then to actually go to the moon than create the fakes. :rofl:
 
If NASA faked the moon landings they would have faked some other accomplishments since.
 
The MythBusters said it happened. And they proved it. I believe anything Adam and Jamie say.

I won't watch those two anymore. Typical dump and run bosses... after the shine wore off of the OTHER three people responsible for a significant portion of their success.

Show isn't the same without the "kids", and they're worse egomaniacs than when they started, for sure. The additional hosts mellowed that a bit.

Now they're gone and to watch their posts on social media, you'd think Adam walks on water, and Jamie has some superpowers behind his pensive nature.

Actually, Adam Savage has gained substantial credibility within the community as a science educator over the years, particularly related to moon landing conspiracies.

Nate, the show is the same as it was in its first season. And they are the talent, not the bosses. The show obviously had its budget cut and may not last much longer.

Here's a tidbit about American Choppers. The people buying the show bike, they have to pay for the production of the show as well. The Alaska bike ended up costing just over $300k. That tells you something about production budgets of this stuff.

Exactly. It had a good run. They should've walked with their friends and closed it out.

Don't forget 3 of NASAs best were killed during this FAKE attempt to go the the moon.

If they were faking....then they killed some of the best aviators/astronauts to fake that we got there???

Consipiracy people seem to forget this....if we were going to fake it...there would be no loss....Grissom, White and Chaffee would still be with us.

Under a conspiracy....NASA would have never let these guys die. They were a huge loss.

Under a conspiracy none of these guys would matter at all, they would be actors, not aviators or astronauts. Apollo 1 had to happen because Grissom didn't cooperate and drown with the capsule like he was supposed to do in a prior season's episode. They needed some human loss to be believable.

Maybe after the deaths, they realized that going to the moon was impossible, so that's why they faked it. Can't let those deaths be for nothing.
