I am redoing my panel and need to figure out lighting. Any comments about Nulite vs UMA Electroluminescent? I believe my neighbor's Cherokee 6 has Nulites which seem fairly thick.

I'd like to keep the ring as thin as possible.

Is this the thin light strip under the "dash board"? I think I had Nulites in the -35 (could have been another brand - was years ago). Worked well and were really thin. I'll have to see if I happen to have the documentation on it. (Most of the documentation went in "the box" when the aircraft was totaled though.)

I can't make a comparison but I have Nulites in my plane. They aren't that thick in my opinion plus they're dimmable and work great.

I used SPT glow strips but pitched their controller and opted for a MaxDim instead. It works great.

Those seem use one light source for multiple instruments which is a single point of failure.

Which is a LED source, plus with most planes having the overhead red forward facing light, and me also carrying a headlamp, not really a issue IMO.

Julie's in my plane look nice and have worked flawlessly

Nulites... Dang that spellcheck help

UMAs. Nice glow all around the instrument.
