Two years ago, a Pilatus crash with Kansas family aboard (950KA), still no report? I wonder what is taking them so long, unusual for accidents where they have the wreckage.

There was a crash of an experimental amateur built aircraft in South Carolina last month that hasn't even shown up on the NTSB database yet. In the case of the Pilatus, I'd guess it takes a while for a complex aircraft. It would be painstaking engineering work to reconstruct with no "black boxes" to rely on.

Are you saying there is NO prelim ??? Or Final ??:dunno:

There is a rather specific preliminary report.
I haven't read this report, but if it's one of those crashes where a number of things could have caused it, then it usually takes a while to release the factual report.

From the prelim...

"He went inside his house, and got a digital camera, then ran back outside to his pool deck, and videotaped the descent. He reported the airplane was in a spin but could not recall the direction. The engine sound was consistent the whole time; there was no revving; he reported there was no forward movement. He called 911 and reported the accident."

With a videotape of the crash, I would guess the NTSB is pretty confident of the eyewitnesses report....

Then maybe they just forgot about it? :dunno:

Fascinating. The Electronic Devices Specialist's Report, with the overlay of timeline and events for the electronic controls system and the warning system (proper terminology not used) is especially compelling.

This is government at work.:yikes:

That's good stuff, glad they are working it, inflight break ups shouldn't happen IMOHO, I still disagree with flight 587 result (pilot error).

Me too..... VA is VA... You should NOT be able to break the plane at VA... No matter what control input you use...
