I am taking my cfi check ride tomorrow, I'm a little unclear of ntsb 830.
It says that any serious incident or accident must be reported immediatly. Then it says within 10 days. Can someone clarify this section for me?

You're conflating 830.5 "Immediate Notification" with 830.15 "Reports and Statements to be Filed".

No:

A report on an incident for which immediate notification is required by §830.5(a) shall be filed only as requested by an authorized representative of the Board.

If it requires an immediate report, then it doesn't require the other 10-day report. So since an accident normally requires immediate report, that's the only report needed. At least that's how I read it.
