NTSB -- 787 Battery Investigation Report

Very interesting. Hopefully they'll get a handle on this quickly. An in-flight fire that takes down a 787 would be a pretty devastating blow to an already struggling airframe.

Sounds to me from the report that I heard this am that they knew about the potential for the batteries and rushed them into the airplane, rushed the certification and rushed the production . . . . when are folks gonna learn that this ALWAYS comes back and bites you in the rear - think "ain't no problem from the foam coming off the external tank" and "its not too cold to launch." Even Apollo 13 resulted from an overvoltage to the wiring that they knew about = and someone said 'don't worry about it - we need to deliver this SM."

The only three times I EVER cut a corner in my preparation for trial based on the absolute promise of my client that 'this is not a problem. . . ' you know what? It was.
