Not only FSS being outsourced!

Oh, please, nooooo! :)

Saw the guy who runs the Euro controller stuff that there is no reason that his company could not start controller the traffic in the US. In his words the only thing stopping him was regulatory hurtles. Form a technology standpoint there is not anything that is stopping remote ATC. Really if you think about it is what we have now. All of the radar stuff could be routed to a central control room. It is already routed to regional control centers.

Not only this, but now they are going to start doing remote surgery from India over the internet using Microsoft products. No more high paid docs from the US, no malpractice insurance issues, much cheaper health care. Nothing but advantages..:hairraise:

A company from Bombay invests 500 Billion to set magnetic dots in selected roadbeds. Computer driven commercial trucks will drive those selected routes at predetermined speeds and deliver all products to central location. Along the route are fully automated service stations which the truck pulls into when the onboard sensors detect need for service (fuel, lube, fluids, R/R parts). Mag strip on vehicle is automaticlly read and account automatically deducted from subsidiary of Bombay company, Bangalore, Ltd.

Pvt vehicles will share those roadbeds but there is one designated lane for trucks only. Laws are passed which state that any pvt vehicle which has incident or accident involving commercial truck is automatically at fault. Automated server makes withdrawl from pvt owner's Hwy account in an amount to cover estimated damage, future anticipated mx resulting from accident, and stipulated fines. Pvt owner may contest but will lose all driving privleges until final determination. Pvt owner may become elgible to use one time/yr US Fed subsidy to offset amount.

Company in Bombay gets a cut of $0.xx/mi. which is 5x what goes into the US Treasury from roadbed taxes and can let closed bid contracts on roadbed mx per US Congress. It is reported that most members of US Congress have fully subsidized pleasure palaces in India. No one cares because products prices have dropped through the bottom.

Yeah, but if you can't understand what they're saying, you can't do what they want. I'm not ready to play "Quickie Mart" with ATC.
