The nose gear fork in my 1960 Bellanca is a cast part - I believe it was manufactured by Piper and used in various Piper models. Has anyone that might be familiar with this part seen a case where hydraulic fluid is leaking from the casting itself (see picture)? Although I haven't yet disassembled the strut to pinpoint the leak it looks like it's leaking from the very center of the casting - right down the center axis of the strut. Anyone ever seen this?

Probably a leaking O-ring. Find a mechanic that has a manual for the airplane.

Find a mechanic, not a owner item.

Definitely find a mechanic. If you are lucky, it is just an o-ring.
In which case you will only need 1 pitch-fork to shovel the cash into the mechanic's trunk. If it is a cracked casting, do yourself a favor and buy a forklift for the palettes of cash. ;)
