Flew to North Las Vegas this weekend with a buddy of mine (from Deer Valley, KDVT). Awesome flight. Got to fly right over the Vegas Strip. My buddy is a SWA Captian based out of Vegas, so he picked us up and we headed over to the Nellis AirShow. So jealous of the guys flying fighters!

Photos are honestly not very good quality, but still worth sharing (most of these photos weren't taken by me and were compressed when sent through email).

Don't feel like posting all the photos here so here is a link to the Google Photos album.

Yeah most of the Migs were dispersed as static displays. Was the Aurora flying?

Yep - saw it fly too. I thought I had a photo of it in my Google Photos, but I guess I don't.

It sure is. He told so many stories about flying that thing and other helicopters in his past. My dad was also at the airshow. I would have been if I wasn't working in TX.

Thanks! It is nice, although sometimes I think it would be nice to be flying over corn fields and not rocks all the time haha.

Well they say it's Stealthy so probably why you didn't notice it. I can see the boarding ladder though, you sure you didn't see it?

Whirlybirds? Don't know the first thing about them. I told ya, I flew Migs out of Tonopah in the late 70s, then got my dream assignment with the 65th in the early 80s. ;)

Some more Nellis throw back pics...when they had Migs.

I did but like a good aggressor, I let him beat me. He never would have shot down 5 Mig-21s if it wasn't for me showing him the way.

I figured that's how he got all those Migs in VN, before we had the 4477th TES. :)

In all seriousness though, I was reading about General Bond. Interesting story how he died flying with The Red Hats.

Excellent! You'll enjoy it. Ran into one of the Migs they dispersed around the country at the Armament Museum outside of Eglin, a Mig 21.
