Has anyone been out there yet? This weekend, 5/21 - 5/22 is predicted to be very nice, so I was thinking of flying out again.
I flew out there last fall and the ground was a bit soft...I almost got my Cessna 150 stuck. Now I have a Cherokee 160, so it has more power, but also more weight.

For those who don't know, Brad Frederick who is mentioned in the article posts here as el con and is also the brains and brawn behind the renaissance of 6Y9 in the wilds of the Michigan UP. He and his wife Diz host the annual fly-in there on Labor Day. They are great people, met them down in Ohio a couple of years ago, though I'm out of the area now and not likely to make the 6Y9 fly-in any time soon.

I called Brad on Friday, and he said the field is ready to go...I ended up staying home (decision not aviation related), but I may go sometime in the next 3 weeks, and taking my telescope back again. Brad also mentioned there is a "volunteer day" there on June 17/18. Info is on the RAF web site.
