So we lost power about 3 hours ago. I decided to take a drive down the road to see what was up, since I heard and saw the VFD drive by. On arriving I saw a line on the ground with fire crews putting out a related grass fire. The is no apparent reason for the line to be on the ground. There is no car accident, no pole damage, no fried squirrel, just a 50 foot section of line.

About 10 minutes ago I took a ride down to the site to see how the power crew was coming along since I received a "We are currently on site" text.

Guess what....? There is not one soul at the downed line. What's even more shocking is the line is still laying there unattended. :yikes:

So I'm kinda ****ed off at the power company right now. :mad2: It's one thing to say its on the list, but another to lie about being on site fixing it.

Power got fixed some six hours later. It took the crews about two hours to find the break in the line. :mad2: I talked to one of the guys and they said that they couldn't figure out why the fuse kept blowing. I told him have you fixed the downed line at xyz ? They didn't even know about it....

Nice....they kept energizing the line not knowing where kids may have been playing around it!

There are many reasons why we're told to treat any powerline on the ground as a live one regardless of how it looks. This is just one of them.
