EDIT: Duplicate post, disregard
In their "Air Safety Institude" segment, AOPA publishes aviation-related incidents, accidents, etc., with the intent to provide a "lessons learned" conclusion.
I watched a 30-minute long video titled "No Greater Burden"; an experienced pilot survives a plane (amphibian) accident but tragically, his 6 year old son does not.

One day I might get a PPL certficiate and my dream is to not only share the flying experience with passengers, but that my almost 2-year old son will be old enough to be flying as my "co-pilot".
I'm not sure if AOPA log-in (membership) is required to watch it (that would suck), but, if possible consider watching it. For me the video sort of percolates the "on the news" membrane and makes the lessons-learned and consquences more of a reality.
