I think the court got it right.

Too often people fall for the "National Security trumps everything" argument.

It's been Catch-22 squared.

"No. You can't know why why you're being held, delayed or denied boarding"
"No. You can't see if you're on the list."
"No. You can't see who we think is you on the list."
"No. You can't see the list."
"No. You can't know why you're on the list."
"No. You can't ask to be removed from the list. (See #1)"

Too bad you can't find out who is on the list so you could take them for a ride.

:nono: The rules say they are prohibited from US Airspace. I dunno what happens while they are at the airport where controlled airspace goes down to the surface. Prolly get in the sights of a drone strike.

Well, it certainly follows that they aren't fit to breathe.

It has gotten so stupid that the people who most deserve to be on the no fly list are those making up the no fly list.

As a brand new Deputy, I was assigned to Portland. I've seen Judge Brown in action. She's a good judge and doesn't take crap. Also very thoughtful and articulate in her decision making in the courtroom. And with the standards of people in Portland, I wouldn't even consider her very liberal. If she is, she didn't let it show.

I was in court yesterday. Something that was my fault even, but I have nothing but good things to say about the court (other than it was very intimidating) and the judge.

I figured this would happen eventually, though I had hoped sooner. No, DHS isn't above the law, though it is a shame the courts have to bring those fascist sons of ******* to heel, and not the Congress.

The saddest thing is that them folks in DHS think they're doing the right thing, and I bet most are hardworking and devoted to their jobs. Even the officers conducting SWAT paramilitary-stype raids probably think they're doing the right thing. Truly, one of the saddest ironies I know.

It's easy to brainwash the mentally deficient, and get them to say "I was just following orders."

It isn't even that, I bet obey these folks feel they're protecting innocent American citizens from harm. The cops who showed up to the bank robbery in which I was involved were positively apologetic.

I bet the police carrying out these raids feel they're making communities safe from drugs. The really sad part of this is it hasn't occurred to anyone that people simply can't be protected from themselves.

What the hell can Congress do?

Congress: "Here is a subpoena for your e-mails."

IRS/DHS/or any other hated executive branch office under the Obama administration: "Yeah, we lost our e-mails. The hard drive crashed. Sorry."

Congress: "Well, here's a subpoena for your broken hard drive."

IRS/DHS/AOHEBO: "Sorry, we lost that."

Mainstream Media: "Yawn."

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”

That's part of the brainwashing. Not necessarily from their superiors, just that they feel that they have to take care of everyone else.

Is robbing a bank a DQ for your medical?

Some of the nicest people I met, while I was a intern, was DHS empolyees.

They loved to show me around and show me how their stuff worked.
