Newspapers on the computer

I switched a couple years ago. I get the SacBee on my iPad and canceled physical delivery. It even has the comics. Newsprint made me sneeze, anyway.

We tried the local newspaper internet version. WAY too complicated to use on a daily basis. Needed special software, had to be down loaded, unsearchable. I called and cancelled and they asked why.... I said; "Have you been on any other newspapers web sites?" :mad2:

Anyone get sillyputty to lift comics off the computer? Maybe I got a bad lot of sillyputty.

I'm just curious...

Do you have a hard time reading stuff on your computer because of all the white out on the screen??

No. But I've been housebreaking the puppy with iPads so I go through em pretty quick. Thank god I don't have a wood stove to start or it would get really expensive. Newspapers on the computer who knew the future would be so awesome

I wouldn't recommend wrapping a fish with your iPad either.

"If the death of newsprint was a game of Clue, you might say that the papers did it in the Cubby Hole with the Rotary Phone."

And our local 'fish-wrapper' posts on line news that is updated every two weeks. "Yeah, already heard that elsewhere".

Call me a luddite, but I still subscribe to the local newspaper. I think they're in a death spiral, though, price keeps going up as content goes down. I dropped them earlier this year but after a couple of months they sent me a 70% discount offer (on a year's subscription) that I couldn't refuse. :D

Starts fires real well. Much better than my AOPA magazine, and they show up more often too.

Lol, gotta love the dial up phones.

I still have a red rotary phone! I keep it for when the power goes out. I don't know exactly how old it is, but decades, and it's very heavy.

Likely won't make a difference, the phone line carries its own dedicated power which works a $5 touch tone phone as well. If there is no power in the system even the pulse phone won't work. I doubt any of the old pulse switching gear still exists anyway.
