Where: Amelias Landing Hotel, Port Aransas, Texas, on Mustang Island

When: 12/31/14

It's become a tradition to come up with a whiz-bang special for y'all on New Years Eve. So, for the 13th consecutive year (8 in Iowa, 5 in Texas), we've got THREE screaming good New Years Eve deals for pilots!

Option #1: $99.95/$129.95
For the cheap pilots (you know who you are ;) ), it's a straight "BOGO". Buy New Year's Eve in any aviation themed room at Amelia's Landing Hotel, single or a double, and we will throw in New Year's Day , for free!

Sleep all day. Watch football. Soak in the hot tub. Walk on the beach. Relax!

Option #2: $129.95/$159.95
Two nights at the hotel, as above, plus a $50 dinner-for-two gift certificate at The Fish House, Port Aransas' best in casual dining.

Option #3: $159.95/$189.95
Two nights at the hotel, as above, plus a $100 dinner-for-two gift certificate at Roosevelt's, Port Aransas' best in fine dining.

Your stay includes use of our hotel courtesy car (first come, first served). Amelia's Landing Hotel is within easy walking distance of 19 bars, so you won't lack for something to do!

To reserve, PM me here, or call 888-671-8088. You can NOT book these specials on line. http://ameliaslanding.com/new_years_eve_package.htm

Here are all the different rooms: http://ameliaslanding.com/the_rooms.htm
Pick your favorite era of aviation history!

In other news, the new Reno Air Race room is finished, after a complete overhaul, and the new Blackbird Room will be done by Monday. These rooms are the newest hotel rooms on the island, and join 19 other totally renovated rooms.

If you're wondering about island weather, here's a pic of a beach party we attended last week. The weather has been PERFECT here. C'mon down!

No better hosts!

Geez.... I "should" have pulled the plane out this morning and headed your way...:mad2::mad2::mad2::mad2::mad2:,,

Sitting at -13F now... moving toward -28f by morning....:redface:....:(

It's 9pm and 65 degrees here in central Florida.
But I'm going to Atlanta tomorrow where it is predicted to be 28degrees. I have no idea what clothes to take. I guess all of them. But I'll still need something to cover my arms. Even several layers of short sleeve shirts and t-shirts won't help much.

We've got several DFW folks coming in for New Years Eve. Hopefully they won't have to drive! ;)

Looking forward to going back. Is there still transportation from RAS to the hotel?

So I take it you're not going to make the New Year's Day party here, Jay? It starts at Noon. Someone could come get you at IAD.

Yes, where are the NYE pictures? Big bonfire on the beach, gorgeous women, awesome BBQ, we're waiting, Jay! :)

Heh. What happens on the island, stays on the island! :hairraise:

Suffice it to say, the weather sucked for flying, so everyone drove in. The hotel was sold out, the live music around town was hopping, the dinner packages sold all but one (perfect -- now we get to use the last certificate!), and a great time was had by all. :D

Your next package deal opportunity will be Valentine's Day, although we will be doing BOGO during the week pretty regularly.

Here's a pic that shows the leaden skies that prevailed on NY Eve -- and that continue to prevail. This is the longest stretch of crappy flying weather we've seen since moving here in 2010.

Sorry for your weather, glad to see you made it work anyway.

We keep telling everyone up North to stop sharing their danged "Winter Vortices" with us -- but NOOOOOOO.

It's was, like, 48 here today. I had to wear PANTS.

(Of course our Winter Texans, down from the U.P., Wisconsin, and Minnesota, just laugh. That's still 40 degrees warmer than "back home"...:))
