New Traffic Threat

Knowing the FAA, their "solution" will be to keep us out of designated "Sterile UAV Control Zones". Either that, or force us to purchase some box that costs an arm and a leg both to purchase and to have certified annually.

Navigable airspace is a public commons - it is not the exclusive domain of piloted aircraft - and never has been, since the first man-made objects to travel in it were unmanned balloons and gliders.

If ADS-B can be made to work, then that could be a way for everyone to see-and-avoid.

Older aircraft without electrical systems could be royally screwed.

"could be"..... Are ya kiddin.. Big brother absolutely hates the fact VFR traffic can cruise anywhere they want without telling anyone... Their grand plan is to institute ADS-B under the pretense of "better separation" and require all aircraft to have an electrical system to power said devices..... When that happens NO ONE will be able to fly unnoticed... Read this post in 10 years and I bet I "could" be right.... Jus sayin...

No sucker bets for me. You will be right :(. All in the name of safety and security.

Your bet will require fixing ADS-B to validate the link.

A Predator drone landed behind me at VCV - no big deal.
