Hot off the press from CMC Electronics. For the next cycle, Jeppesen will have a new databases available for the M3 Approach unit that will provide coverage for the northern tier US states. There will now be 2 databases available for US coverage DSNT22 and DSNT62 as a work-around for the memory limits of the unit. DSNT22 is the current coverage area, which omits all data north of about 44.5 degrees latitude. The new database will cut off below about 23.5 degrees latitude. See the CMC Electronics and Jeppesen websites for details (release notes 0710). The bummer for me is that it looks like the "northern" database will cut off a little bit of San Diego, but I will be calling Jepp to see exactly where the cutoff line falls. I have a trip planned to the Seattle area in less than a month, so the timing is perfect for me.

Dr. B - Do you still have your M3? I thought you'd be interested in this news.

They did something similar for the database for our Apollo GX55 a year or two ago. I don't think I'll miss the lack of data for Central/South America.
