Totally not aviation related, but i wanna brag.. Got to see my baby for the first time today. My wife is 11 weeks, and had her first ultrasound today. Was the most amazing thing I have ever experienced, and it beats every other moment in my life to this point, including my first solo, and getting my certificate.

Congratulations! Wait for the 20 week ultrasound, the clarity is amazing. You can see fingers, and so many details. I didn't want to know the sex of the baby so it would be a surprise.

We're going to do a gender reveal party, and give a sealed envelope to her friend and find out there

Thank you! This is my first child, so i am beside myself with excitement.

Congratulations! It is truly one of the most unimaginably amazing things you will ever be a part of.

I mean they do **** all over you for a few years. But amazing none the less ;)

Congratulations!

I felt the same upon seeing the first ultrasound. Or just finding out. Just wait until you can see the baby's kicks.

Whats a BMU equal in dollars? Congrats, first six weeks of parenthood suck, then it is cool on out.

I rather enjoyed those first 6 weeks. I think the parenting part started out great and have just gotten better. It's not all roses and sunshine, but few worthwhile things in life are.

I'm counting the days.. I think im driving my wife nuts with rubbing her tummy lol

Congratulations and best wishes. About 25 years ago I remember seeing the ultrasound of my first child.

My favorite memory is coming home from the hospital, baby is asleep and wife and I Just sitting in the living room looking at each other and going. "Ok what do we do now?"

Thanks everyone. I am excited, scared and nervous all rolled into one. Kinda like that first solo. Got thru that. I can do anything

Hey, congrats! Being a Dad is AWESOME! We had a gender reveal party as well, it was when my wife was in the delivery room and the baby popped out ;)

One is a piece of cake, I have 18 month old boy/girl twins. Named my girl Piper.
The first 6months is hard. Like very hard. Like, who in their right mind would put themselves through this hard. Then it becomes the greatest thing ever. Everyday my kids do something different and new. It's awesome. Good luck.

We did the 4d ultrasound at 17 weeks and found both. Crazy!!

My daughter is pregnant and I'm going through all these thoughts again....

Great time, circle of life.

Congrats!

Little trick I used, you might find it cool - first time moms can't differentiate the early baby kicks, but precise science can. Take a plastic bottle of water and drink about half of it. Position the prepped seismograph on the belly and watch. Whenever you see ripples on the water - that's baby kicking. You're not quite there yet, but trust me, it'll be a ton of fun.
Also see if there's something called "Daddy boot camp" in your area - if there is, go for it towards the end of the term. It's normally free and comes with pizza and beer. Win-win.
Oh, and don't read "What to expect when you're expecting" and if there is a copy in your house - burn it.

It's a good feeling, however, the oh crap of what if i drop the baby etc comes into my head

Hence the Daddy Bootcamp
They show you how to pick up/hold/give/handle/change a newborn
You'd think that women would have a genetic knowledge of all that, but nope.

My wife has 2 previous kids, now 7 and 8.. I'm just a baby n00b,
