With a lot of encouragement and passion to write, I with my bride got our first book published late last year. My wife who loves aviation, is my art director and editor on this project. The book is titled "John, The Airport Kid". It is a very possitive short story about a teenager who lives and works at the local airport. In return the airport staff teach him to fly and he earns his tickets through his work. It is a fun and positive reading for all ages. our youngest reader is 7 and wants me to finish the sequal that I am working on. The oldest I have met is 92.

We have a web site; www.johntheairportkid.com and it has links to Amazon plus sites where we will be for signings.
We also have been invited to be present at the Author's Corner at Airventure at Oshkosh. It is a first for me and my bride. The sequal will be out in late September or early October.

Any reviews or coments are very welcomed.

Thank you

John,

AWESOME!!! Now, I need to go order it - I've been looking forward to it ever since you mentioned you were going to put some of your stories into a book.

Folks, for those who may not have been around a couple of years ago when John was posting some of his stories, you need to check these threads:

And then go order the book!

I hope to see you at Airventure, John.

Let us know your schedule at the Author's Corner. I'd like to buy several signed copies for the local school and public libraries in the county here (at least 6) and bring them home in time for the fall school semester. I should put one in the local FBO, too.

Kent and Steve;

I cannot thank you both enough.
I wrote this story as a novel for teens and others as a possitive story based on my early life working and living at a little airport.
I used my scrap book for much of the story and made into a fun short novel. My scrap book I still have and added more from the notes in my log books so some day I am going to put it into book form.

Your notes and Steve your reference to some of my old posts brought tears to my eyes for I really enjoyed those times so very much. My bride sat next to me one day as I wrote the one that you liked. Interesting my dad just one month after that flight died of a heart attack. He always encourged me to fly for he never could as a boy. That flight is still my favorite too this day.

OUr dates at OSH are Aug. 1 and Aug. 2 in the Author's Corner. We will be at the secondary areas ( Warehouse and Sky Shop) from the 28th to the 31. I will bring my lap top and will have communications so that I can be found. It is a very exciting time for me and my wife. We were a team on our first book and without her help this would have never happened.
We are working on a sequal to come out in September. We have our fingures crossed

I can't thank you both enough and I may fire up the old typewriter again. Let me know if you wish address etc.. either tjhought the web site or private note.
Thank you very much
