It’s at the comment stage. Reading now. @midlifeflyer pointed it out elsewhere earlier this week.

Funniest edit so far in the draft is they forgot to mention your own flight instructor can assist with setting personal minimums. LOL.

Other stuff noted so far on a more serious note: Flight instructors are not to pass anyone on an FR who doesn’t appear to have solid English language skills but only an ASI can determine if the pilot actually meets the requirement. (Good lord...)

Online 8710 form has been updated to have FR and IPC checkboxes. Still not required but “highly encouraged.”

If you think *I* can write a good “wall of text”, see the section on traffic pattern operations. Takes up a full page. And tells CFIs to emphasize Vy departures with zero mention of Vx for anything. Brilliant. Total gobledeegook.

Huge added babble about stabilized approaches. No surprise there.

Giant section on runway incursions that includes the entire description of all the types and their special codes used to classify them and blah blah blah... who the hell CARES how they’re recorded inside the bureaucracy in a FLIGHT REVIEW GUIDE?! Put that crap in some other document.

Specific tasks required for IPC referenced to the correct documents now, and mandatory.

Added ACS standards to the study/review checklist.

In all, 45 pages including a huge pile of checklists, for a Flight Review, and the document points to at least two others as mandatory.

Start planning six hours for an FR? LOL ... okay maybe not that bad, but combine this with the IPC document and it’s pretty massive.

Just thoughts. Discuss and enjoy. Especially that tome on traffic pattern ops. Wow. What a mess that page is.
