Hey guys, bad news for me..... the oil slump got me laid off.

I am trying to find work in ft worth or surrounding areas. Wouldn't mind an airport job. I put in at Texas Jet for a line postion but haven't heard anything back.

If anyone has any leads I sure would appreciate it.

Life in the oilpatch...best-of-luck with the search. Me, I'm taking some time off.

Health/Safety/Environment, e.g. rules compliance and workforce safety - a pretty good niche since the rules only increase

I won't limit myself to just hse positions though. So if you know of anyone hiring please let me know.

There is a high demand for HSE's to aid with OSHA compliance in Texas... A free service is provided by the Texas Department of Insurance (http://www.tdi.texas.gov/oshcon/). When I called to set up the primary appointment for the salvage yard, the earliest available slot was 6-weeks away. That tells me our local rep has more work than he has capacity.

Data mine that link and see if you can find something.

The other idea is to offer HSE services back to the oil fields, but now as a consultant...

If you are good with environmental compliance (such as Storm Water Pollution Prevention), I know of someone in Round Rock that might talk with you.

Environmental compliance is something I am pretty solid with. Not saying I am an expert in storm water pollution, but I know enough.

I'll send you a text shortly.

Thats what I was doing, Safety Consulting.

I'd take a look at the companies working on the new Dallas Cowboys training facility. The construction is just getting ramped up and it's a billion dollar project.

A safety officer or compliance coordinator job is likely to be had there.
