Been through half a dozen CFIIs over the last 2 years. Instead of trying to find a steady CFII for weekend duty (which has not been productive). None at my airport and the logistics have been a nightmare. I have some IFR training but it's dated. I've saved my pennies and have the cash for an instrument ticket. I'm based about halfway between augusta and savannah GA at a sleepy airport. Plane is a Bo with a GNS 530W, GPSS, HSI, KX155, WX50 stormscope, DME, kx155 and stec 50 AP. I can take a week or two vacation time to knock it out. The idea is to start the training in September/October since I go in for annual in August. I'll can have the written out of the way. Ideally, you can stay at mi casa, I have 2 spare bedrooms, no kids and you can make yourself at home. I have a vehicle if you don't bring your own. Any takers? I can come to you but I'm not interested in 2 weeks worth of hotel and rental car bills.

It's a treck from you, but this is the only CFII I would recommend.

You'd want Spence, I did my initial IFR work with him, and then thousands of hours and years later came back to do some prep for a single pilot IFR job with him, A+

They use a array of simulators as well as aircraft, written tests and also do training for 135/121 ops.

Im in Atlanta and may be able to help you out. My office is at LZU on the east side of Atlanta (Lawrenceville). Goto www.GPSDirect.com and contact me from the email form or call me at 888-514-1945. - Russ

Would the PIC program be an option? www.iflyifr.com

Call 800-435-9437 (I-FLY-IFR) and talk to Donn H. Perhaps Ron Levy would be available.

When I was building O'Reilly stores over there in '05 or so, I took some instrument training with Terry Florie. Great guy...Ex-military. Great instructor and had a good working knowledge of my GPS. He was an independent and would meet me over at Daniel Field. He was probably mid to late 40s then. Reasonable rates.

I no longer have his cell phone # but found this on the internet:

Terry Florie, CFI, CFII
Fixed wing single engine, instrument - rental airplane.
Daniel Field (DNL), Augusta, GA
Phone: (706) 651-1660

I'm pretty sure he was retired and his only obligation was instructing so he might be just what you need.

If you call him, tell him I said hi...though he probably won't remember me.
