Hi,

New member here.

3 friends and I just purchased a C172K equipped with a Garmin 150 GPS. The GPS works in the plane, but the battery won't hold a charge and we'd like to be able to program it at home.

Anyone have an AC Adapter for sale? A good battery? How about just the polarity of the adapter plug in the back of the unit?

I've already checked eBay, Googled, etc. but haven't had any luck. We have the operator's manual, the installation manual, and the repair manual, but no luck with an adapter.

Thanks,

Smitty

You can buy a 12 volt 1 amp power supply at Radio Shack for under $20 with the connector that matches the power input at the back of the GPS. Bring the GPS with you to make sure it matches. If you can't find one with the cord already attached, buy the connector and makeup your own cord.

Thanks for the info, John. I can make up the power supply okay, but I haven't been able to find anything about what the polarity on the plug is--I don't want to fry the GPS.
