It is likely I am buying a 1958 Tri-Pacer on Friday and meeting the seller at this airport for the pre-buy inspection. My insurance, for what ever reason is requiring a sign off from a CFI before I can fly PIC.
They require the CFI to have 5 hours in a Tri-Pacer.
I will of course fly with the seller and become familiar with the plane.
My optimal timeline would be to do this check out late afternoon or evening this Friday
I'm not having much luck finding one at the local flight schools.
I need to start my ferry mission back Saturday morning at first light.

Congrats! Enjoy your new bird. Yep unfortunately insurance calls the shots. Good luck!

No help on the five hour thing in tri-pacers but I’ll ask a couple of folks and report back or send you a PM if they can do it. Highly doubtful.

Have fun with the new bird!

To close this thread, I found an awesome EAA member and CFI, Billy Mitchel, in Broomfield to give me 1.5 hours of instruction and sign off. I am home with the plane and still am trying to figure out how to land it, but at least I can get it down, although pretty ugly.
