NAVY HELO DOWN

And an Air Force HH-60G Pave Hawk went down yesterday in Great Britain, killing all four crewmen.

These men and women all serve in a dangerous environment, whether it be training or in action. The war in Afghanistan has been permanently relegated to the back pages, and training losses are seldom mentioned.

May they all rest in peace, and my condolences to the families. The service and sacrifice of our military members makes a difference, even though it may go virtually unnoticed.

Must have hit really hard. If they were practicing minesweeping they would have been at low altitude with little time to react to a mechanical issue. I can only imagine the drag from the sweeper is tremendous. From what I read the seas were pretty flat. (1-2 ft). Tough news.

I went to see the wreckage of this yesterday. Seeing it really puts it into perspective on how hard that thing hit the water!
