Looking for guidelines on how to transport an H cylinder(4-5'), once, in the bed of a pickup...in which building or buying a dedicated rack would be impractical.
Practical advice greatly appreciated; pertinent laws might also be considered helpful (this is in Texas). I will have the valve off and the cap securely in place. The bed has a plastic liner with corner tie downs available.
We have til 10am; go!

My gas place always gives me a "handling instructions" sheet to carry which I guess meets some regulation. I usually strap down the tank so it can't move and not worry about it. If you do it regularly, you can fashion a cradle out of some hunks of closed cell foam (scuba guys do this to carry their tanks).

Since i have an extended cab truck I just wedge it in tight behind the front seat. It's not going anywhere.

strap/secure the tank....so the valve is protected.

Oh, valve up....;)
