Touchdown! Greaser!
My 2003 4Runner (8cyl LTD) has this problem of collecting huge amounts of dust/dirt on the back of the tailgate window because we drive on dirt roads. You could clean it then in 24 hours you cannot see out of the back. I just replaced the latch because it had piled an inch of heavy dirt on the inside of the tailgate bottom, bunging up the mechanism. If you roll the window down, it scratches the glass and sometimes it is too full of dirt and the motor stalls.
I am thinking there is a deflector available (the last 4Runner had one) which will jet the window and help control some of this dust.
Any suggestions of which one? Or material to avoid (I see ABS ones)
And, is the install a simple drill and screw or more like 'leave that job to a pro'?
