[NA]Supersonic Elevator?[NA]

8800 feet per second in 1500ft high buildings. Talk about the elevator dropping out from under you when it starts down...For your convinence, neck braces are available in the lobby.

"Construction was halted in September 2009 due to an elevator shaft accident which killed six workers."

So, did they get launched through the top of the building and up 4 or 5 miles to drop to the ground or did the elevator simply not stop until the earth decided they had gone far enough? My guess is the g loads did them in.

100 floors a minute sounds more like it. The World Trade Center express elevators that went up to one of two SkyLobbies would cover 66? floors in 30 seconds. Fast, but the start and stop phases were gradual enough that there was little sensation of speed.

The web site says the elevator operates at 10 meters/second.
It says:
The world's tallest buildings feature elevators that travel 100-miles a minute, with views that oversee some of the world's biggest cities. Take a look at the top 10 tallest towers of the world.
My emphasis added.

Ha, it was just a typo.....but it still says 100 mi/m, as of Sun pm!
Either no readers noticed and advised them...or they are not listening to such hints on the weekend.
