Couldn't let it go. Swapped the motor, and it worked. Transit time down back down to 11s. The old motor was full of carbon dust; guessing the brushes were EOL for the last few months and it finally gave up the ghost. A replacement motor is $100.

Interesting, the Chamberlain B550 has what appears to be a brushless motor, but is discontinued.
