Just a friendly email reminder:
"Reply" goes only to the person who sent the email to you.
"Reply to All" goes to that person, plus everyone else who received the message.

If your email is only relevant to the person who sent the message, you want to use "Reply".

(this message was brought to you by my poor inbox and the person who sent a question to 200 people who don't know the difference between "Reply" and "Reply to All")

Sadly, yes.
You'd think that even if someone was in a coma for the past 21 year, the naming of the options would be self explanatory ... but I've got an inbox full of evidence that suggests otherwise.

Yes, but were there 50 replies which 'replied to all' admonishing the person not to reply to all. I used to work in a large consulting firm and we'd get one of these strings going every year or so. Very entertaining at how worked up folks would get...

Strange, when I saw this thread's title, I read it as this:

:D

But we've been "trained" to reply to all and even add recipients in the corporate world. You should see how often I email person A and the reply includes B-D. Then my sup catches wind of it and suggest I add person E-G. Before you know it everyone adds their coworkers and sups until 15+ people are CC'd on a topic.

*sigh*

I think it's pretty amusing when someone hits "reply to all" when it's obvious that their reply was only meant to be seen by the sender. :D

A different kind of amusing is when some genius hits reply-all and then complains about the people doing a reply-all.

:mad2:
