Here
are all the options for drives available on one distributor's site:

CD ROM
CD RW
DVD-ROM
DVD+-RW
DVD-R/RW
DVD+R/RW
DVD+/-RW Dual layer
CDRW/DVD combo

I guess everyone is going to DVD for all data/music etc storage so I'll choose DVD.
I will need to burn (not just read) disks.
Can the Dual Layer one listed above burn and read all CDs and DVDs?
I really don't want to find myself unable to read something so I guess I need the all-encompassing version. Maybe that is the CD/DVD combo?

It can actually burn labels onto LightScribe discs..full picture labels. It'll look like your CD/DVDs are professionally made.
